The ATS-PreSUDS is a pre-treatment station for SUDS solutions which is to be fitted in conjunction with other ‘Green’ SUDS technology. This is supported by Chapter 7 of the Ciria C697 SUDS Manual.
Principal of Operation
It is an end of line filtration tank which receives road water run-off into a large chamber. The suspended solids settle out and water passes through filtration membrane and media removing contaminants such as suspended solids, heavy metals, hydrocarbons and pesticides.
Trials to Date indicate that the ATS can remove circa:
- 80% heavy metals
- 90% suspended solids
- 99% hydrocarbons
- 60-90% pesticides
The well respected document ‘Sewers for Scotland 2nd edition’ – section 2.8.3d – allows for the reduction in detention ponds to be up to 75% depending on the effectiveness of sediment reduction and hydraulic control upstream.
The ATS in combination with the ATS-Mini can provide treatment for a variety of flow conditions.
